When I came to Decatur, I discovered the power of community — neighbors looking out for each other, streets and parks that bring people together, and spaces where everyone can feel at home. These priorities guide how I’ll strengthen connections, support local businesses and public spaces, improve mobility, and maintain infrastructure that works for every resident. Just as importantly, I want to help ensure Decatur stays true to who we are — protecting the sense of belonging, character, and community that make this place special.

I’d be grateful to get the chance to chat with you and learn about what’s on your mind for our neighborhood. Together, we can continue building a Decatur where every neighbor feels seen, valued, and truly at home.

What I’m Working For

  • Connected, Inclusive Community

Decatur thrives when all neighbors feel seen, valued, and included.

I’m committed to simplifying city communications so residents can easily access information and participate, creating better spaces for neighbors to engage and provide feedback — with a focus on including underrepresented groups, and supporting diverse housing options so that people of all backgrounds can stay rooted in our city.

This commitment to community includes helping those without housing find stability and support. Decatur can’t solve this alone, but by partnering with the county and local nonprofits, we can work together to create lasting solutions.

By building real relationships, we not only lift each other up—we make our city stronger and more welcoming. I want our diverse community to have opportunities for connection—from sharing coffee with a new neighbor to interacting with the city in ways that meet people where they are—so every voice is heard and every resident feels at home.

  • Vibrant Parks & Business Districts

Our neighborhoods come alive through our local businesses, parks, trails, and community programs - they are our “shared front porch.”

I'm dedicated to enhancing our green spaces and recreational programs, making them safe, accessible, and welcoming to people of all ages and abilities. By investing in these public spaces and supporting local events, we can continue to strengthen our shared connections.

And, our business districts are at the heart of our city’s gathering places - where community life and connection happen every day. Supporting our local businesses means ensuring they have the resources, visibility, and partnerships they need to prosper.

  • Streets & Sidewalks for Everyone

How we move around our city impacts daily life and neighborly connection.

I’m committed to improving sidewalks, crosswalks, and traffic safety measures so our streets and paths are accessible to everyone—pedestrians, cyclists, rollers, and transit riders of all ages and abilities. I will advocate for resources to achieve our goal of zero fatal & serious crashes.

By ensuring safe and convenient routes to schools, parks, business districts, and community spaces, we can make it possible for every neighbor to move through Decatur safely, comfortably, and confidently.

  • Strong, Resilient Infrastructure

Reliable infrastructure is the backbone of a thriving city.

I’ll work to advance current initiatives in storm water management and sidewalk improvements, while ensuring that sustainable practices are incorporated into all city projects. Preserving and expanding our tree canopy is also a priority—trees provide shade, reduce flooding, improve air quality, and help maintain the character of our neighborhoods.

Accessibility, neighborhood safety, and long-term environmental sustainability are essential to maintaining a city that serves all residents today and for future generations of Decaturites. At the same time, we must ensure that our essential services have the staffing and resources they need to keep pace as our city continues to grow.
